BAUER PUBLISHING GROUP NAMES SEBASTIAN RAATZ EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF BAUER PUBLISHING

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ (May 3, 2011) – Bauer Publishing Group today named Sebastian Raatz Executive Vice President of the company. Raatz will assume the position immediately. In his new role, he will oversee In Touch Weekly and Life & Style Weekly, along with newly launched magazine iD – Ideas & Discoveries and the company’s various web properties. Raatz previously served as Vice President of New Media at Bauer.

“Despite economically challenging times, Bauer has been able to strengthen existing business as well as introduce new products into the marketplace,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Hubert Boehle. “Sebastian has proven capable in both fields and is the right person to navigate this exciting process as we continue to expand Bauer’s leadership position.”

Among his accomplishments, Raatz has launched iD – Ideas & Discoveries, a new science magazine for Bauer Publishing Group. He has also originated and cultivated the Bauer Teen Network, a group of web sites he launched in 2008 dedicated to Bauer Publishing’s teen properties. Prior to his tenure at Bauer Publishing, Raatz worked at Axel Springer, one of Europe’s leading media enterprises, helping the firm strategically acquire new media companies.
