BAUER PUBLISHING ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF COCKTAIL WEEKLY

New weekly magazine focused on relationships, fashion, beauty, health, nutrition and breaking news to hit newsstands nationwide September 2007
 


Englewood Cliffs, NJ (January 22, 2007) -- Bauer Publishing USA, publisher of top newsstand titles including In Touch Weekly, Life & Style Weekly, Woman's World, First For Women and J-14, announced today it will launch COCKTAIL WEEKLY, the first weekly glossy magazine designed for women in their early 20s.

Scheduled to launch September 21, 2007 with a cover price of $2.49, COCKTAIL will offer a mix of topics including relationship advice, fashion and beauty trends, health and nutrition news, as well as breaking news stories.

"Today's announcement marks a natural progression for Bauer Publishing," said Hubert Boehle, president and CEO, Bauer Publishing. "Over the past four years, we have successfully launched In Touch and Life & Style in the competitive weekly space attracting millions of young readers to the newsstand. COCKTAIL will be another distinct offering that we believe will bring an exciting new group of young readers to the newsstand."

Boehle added, "According to our extensive market research, women in their early 20s will embrace a new weekly magazine like COCKTAIL that covers all the news and issues that matter most to them."

In addition, Boehle announced today that Maria Lissandrello has been named COCKTAIL's editor in chief. Previously, Lissandrello served as executive editor for Bauer's First for Women magazine. Before joining Bauer in December 2002, Lissandrello was the editorial director of the consumer division of Dowden Health Media where she launched and served as editor in chief of Bergen Health and Life. Lissandrello is a graduate of Rutgers University.
